About us
The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) was established in 1999 as an international independent agency composed and funded equally by the sport movement and governments of the world. Its key activities include scientific research, education, development of anti-doping capacities, and monitoring of the World Anti Doping Code (Code) – the document harmonizing anti-doping policies in all sports and all countries. WADA works towards a vision of a world where all athletes compete in a doping-free sporting environment. Our Vision: A world that values and fosters doping-free sport. Our Mission: WADA's mission is to lead a collaborative worldwide campaign for doping-free sport.

Looking to the future of anti-doping 🤝 Today, we opened our 2025 Annual Symposium in Lausanne, Switzerland, welcoming 1,000+ delegates from across the global anti-doping community. Under the theme “Going Further Together,” the event highlights the power of collaboration in the fight for clean sport. Our President Witold Bańka’s keynote address kicked off the two-day event by calling for continued collaboration among members of the anti-doping community: “Over the years, the anti-doping community has been significantly reinforced by the addition of many more dedicated partners from around the globe. This has been the secret to our success!” The 19th edition of the Symposium also marks the beginning of a new chapter with the recent publication of our 2025-2029 Strategic Plan, introduced by our Director General, Olivier Niggli. https://lnkd.in/eQvv3scU Delegates were actively encouraged to participate in various sessions that focused on: ✔️ Amplifying the athlete voice ✔️ Issue of contamination in anti-doping ✔️ Engaging with younger athlete audiences through strategic awareness campaigns ✔️ Generating new ideas together to respond to key challenges in anti-doping ... and more! As we look ahead to the sixth World Conference on Doping in Sport later this year, the discussions and insights from this Symposium will help shape the future of anti-doping and ensure a level playing field for all athletes. #CleanSport #AntiDoping #WADASymposium

🎤 New pod episode How do we stop or curb the use of Performance and Image Enhancing drugs in sport? In the fight to keep sport clean, safe and fair, shutting down illicit drug production and distribution has become a task that requires a multidisciplinary approach. The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) is pushing national anti-doping agencies and law enforcement to collaborate to prevent and respond to integrity threats in sport. WADA has expanded its Intelligence and Investigations Capability and Capacity Building Project, into Asia and Oceania, following the success of a similar program in Europe. The first of six workshops was held in Australia this month, with representatives from 10 countries, including our colleagues from the Pacific, the Oceania Regional Anti-Doping Organization. With the 2032 Brisbane Olympic and Paralympic Games touted as the Pacific Games, our Dinah Bryant spoke with Chair of the Oceania Regional Anti-Doping Organisation, Dr Lawrence Teariki Puni, along with WADA Investigator, John McLaughlin, about the importance of collaboration in combatting drugs in sport.
